Last autumn, the first patients operated on a Gemini in Zlín were using a new method of removing diopters using a Z8 laser. Last week, dr. Stodůlka also operated on the first Austrian patients using the method named CLEAR. The lamellar method should thus be more accessible to patients in the future. This is an alternative to the ReLEx Smile method, commonly performed using a VisuMax laser from the manufacturer Zeiss.
The Swiss manufacturer's Z8 laser has so far assisted with FemtoLASIK operations as well as cataract surgery. "We were the first to operate on patients at the Gemini with the so-called lamellar method using a Z8 laser. A more advanced laser source allows adjusting the energy of the laser pulses according to the surgeon's current needs. In addition, precision optics ensures perfect laser beam targeting, which makes the procedure as accurate and safe as possible, and which also contributes to the rapid achievement of quality vision after the operation and rapid recovery. In the future, it is planned that the procedure will be available at other Gemini clinics as well," explained Pavel Stodůlka.
